Unity at “A Seat at the Table”
Unity was proud to sponsor and attend the “A Seat at the Table” (ASATT) Spotlight Event, hosted by the Assist Women’s Network at Middlesbrough College on 21st April.
The event brought together women from across the Tees Valley for open, honest conversations about careers, confidence, barriers, and what it really takes to move forward in work and business.
What the event covered
The Spotlight Event celebrated everything Assist has achieved over the past 18 months, while also looking ahead to what’s next.
At the heart of the morning was a panel discussion, where speakers shared personal insights on confidence, careers transitions, identity, and experiences of imposter syndrome in the workplace.
A key theme throughout was the importance of access to meaningful, practical networks, not just in theory, but in day to day working life.
The panel explored:
- The role of strong personal networks in career progression
- Understanding and overcoming imposter syndrome
- How confidence influences career growth and opportunities
- Navigating the pressures of new roles and transitions
- Turning setbacks into learning opportunities
- Addressing the barriers women face in leadership
Unity’s involvement
As sponsors, Unity spent the morning engaging with attendees, listening to their goals, understanding the challenges they face, and exploring what meaningful support looks like in practice.
We also introduced our services and connected participants with members of our team to discuss how we can support their next steps.
