Customer Spotlight: Prolojik
Supporting growth and refreshing hardware isn’t always about large-scale transformation. For Prolijik, it was about making smarter, more cost-effective decisions that could scale with the business over time.
As a UK manufacturer of smart building and lighting control solutions, Prolojik needed a practical way to increase the number of laptops available across the organisation while also replacing ageing equipment. With internal teams already managing migration and deployment, the focus of this project was firmly on sourcing the right devices at the right value.
Project Challenge
Prolojik’s priority was clear: support a growing workforce while introducing a more structured approach to hardware refresh, all without unnecessary cost.
Rather than requiring support with onboarding or system migration, the business was looking for a way to secure a higher volume of reliable devices while maintaining performance for day-to-day operations. At the same time, any solution needed to be scalable and repeatable, creating a long-term approach to device lifecycle management rather than a one-off upgrade.
The Solution
Working closely with Prolojik, Unity introduced a more flexible device strategy that balanced performance with cost efficiency.
Instead of relying solely on new, current-generation hardware, the solution combined enterprise-grade refurbished devices with new high-performance machines. This allowed Prolojik to match the device capability to specific roles across the business, ensuring that users had exactly what they needed without overspreading where it wasn’t necessary.
To bring the consistency across the estate, the business standardised on HP EliteBook and ZBook platforms. Refurbished EliteBooks were deployed across general office roles, providing dependable everyday performance, while more powerful ZBook devices were introduced for technical and engineering teams requiring greater processing capability.
Delivered through a carefully phased rollout over the course of nearly a year, the programme ensured that users experienced minimal disruption while new devices were introduced.
Conclusion
The outcome is a more scalable and sustainable approach to end-user hardware, one that supports both immediate operational needs and future growth.
By deploying 30 devices over a structured period, Prolojik was able to increase capacity across the business while gradually replacing older equipment. The phrased approach ensured continuity for employees, while the introduction or refurbished devices helped significantly reduce overall hardware spend.
Just as importantly, standardising on a smaller number of platforms has made the environment easier to manage, creating a more efficient and repeatable process for future refresh cycles.
